Cornwall, Ont. – Monday, September 28, 2026 – It will be another busy start to the month at Cornwall Motor Speedway, with just five events remaining on the 2026 calendar. The action gets underway this coming weekend with the third edition of RaceFest, a two-day event featuring a wide variety of racing divisions.
Following the complete weekend rainout of Canadian Super DIRT Weekend in 2022, it became clear that adding a large number of support divisions to the regular Canadian Super DIRT Weekend program was not sustainable. With the significant interest from race teams and the limited capacity of the Cornwall facility, finding the right balance between the number of divisions and the available pit space became a priority.
The creation of RaceFest has helped provide a solution. Last year, when looking at the strongest attendance days from both RaceFest and Canadian Super DIRT Weekend, more than 340 race cars visited Cornwall Motor Speedway over the two weekends, demonstrating the tremendous interest among teams in competing at the speedway during the fall season.
Now in its third year, RaceFest will feature eight divisions on each day, beginning Saturday with the final round of the Action Sprint Tour.
More than 20 Crate Sprints are expected for the season finale, bringing many of Ontario’s top Crate Sprint competitors to Cornwall. Liam Martin, a regular at Ohsweken Speedway, enters the weekend with a 33-point advantage over former Cornwall Pro-Stock champion Bruno Richard. Josh Verne, Andrew Hennessy, Campbell and Keegan Baker remain in contention for positions inside the top five in the series standings.
The Saturday program will also feature a Mini-Stock Non-Winners Feature and Winners Challenge. The Winners Challenge will welcome feature winners from several area tracks, along with eligible top-five finishers, creating another opportunity for drivers to battle for the win at Cornwall.
The Mod-Lites will compete in two features on Saturday, including the makeup feature from May 31. Also on the schedule are the Lightning Sprints, Vintage cars, Street Stocks, Midget STRs and Mini-Modifieds.
Sunday will feature a Sportsman Non-Winners Challenge, along with the Crate Sprints, Mod-Lites, Lightning Sprints, Vintage cars, Street Stocks, Midget STRs and Mini-Modifieds.
With 120 to 130 cars expected each day, fans can expect plenty of racing action and a full afternoon of laps around the Cornwall oval.
Racing will begin at 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with the pits opening at noon and general admission gates opening at 2:30 p.m.
