Cornwall, Ont – Tuesday, August 9, 2022 – Martin Belanger – Another popular event with the fans is in the cards this Sunday evening at Cornwall Motor Speedway as Archers Poultry welcome the Northeast Late Model Alliance along with our 358-Modifieds, Sportsman and Mini-Stocks as the Street Stock are also on the card with a 25-lap event.
The Crate Late Model division is always offering a great show at Cornwall as the Northeast Late Model Alliance is making its first of 3 stops at the speedway this season as the Series will be part of the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend in October. So far, a total of 16 cars took part in all the events with the last 2 averaging more than 22 cars in attendance. The points battle is really tight as only 8 points is separating the top 3 composed of Austin King, Andrew Hennessy and Charlie Sandercock.
In the Picard Mobile Truck Repair 358-Modifieds, Chris Raabe has a slight 6 points edge over Corey Wheeler as Carey Terrance is still in the mix with 29 points behind. The Modifieds will have a 35-lap feature as there are only 4 nights left for the track championship.
Shane Pecore is now the new leader in the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman with 10 points over Ryan Stabler. The ultra competitive Sportsman division will showcase another 25-lap event as they only have 3 races left in their regular calendar.
Pierre Picard will need to continue his success and try to get away from Alexis Charbonneau in the Belair and Sons Garage Mini-Stock with only 9 points separating them. A 15-lap feature is scheduled for them.
Street Stocks fans will be happy to see the class back for a 25-lap event that will bring a mix of Brockville and Brighton regulars in a heated battle.
Racing will start at 6:30pm with pit gates opening at 3pm and general admission at 5pm, General admission prices are set at $25 for adults, $5 for kids between 6 and 16 and free for 5 years and under. Pit admission is set for $35. Reminder to arrive early and get the chance to meet and greet with Rob MacFarlane and Pierre Picard, behind the grandstands between 5 and 5:30pm.
