Cornwall Speedway Season Preview: JLB Heating & Cooling 358-Modifieds !

Cornwall, Ont – Friday May 12, 2023 – Martin Belanger – With less than 10 days left before the start of the 54th season at Cornwall Motor Speedway, it is now time to preview the headline class with several new faces joining the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds for 2023.

A new champion will be crowned as Chris Raabe decided to run elsewhere this season, Raabe had a solid season last year with 3 wins paving the way to the championship that he won with only a 4-point lead over Corey Wheeler. The driver of the 47s car will certainly be one of the favourite to win the title but you cannot count out the Carey Terrance, Gage Morin, Kyle Dingwall, Louis Jackson, Johnathon Ferguson, Joey Ladouceur, Kevin Hamel, Lee Ladouceur and Brian McDonald who are all returning to action this season.

Brianna Ladouceur is making a return to competition after a year of absence, she will be to watch too, Sandy MacFarlane is also making the jump back to the Modifieds The rookie of the year battle will certainly be one to watch this season as 4 drivers are moving up in the class with Ryan Stabler, Gavin MacFarlane, Chris Ferguson and Gilles Godard will be in battle for the coveted title.

The injection of 6 new drivers will surely solidify an already solid pool of competitors and adding many invaders, the nights with less that 18 cars on the track will be very rare this year.

The Fat Les Chips Stand Canadian Nationals returns with 4 events starting on opening night, each race will offer a minimum of $4,000 to win. The calendar is also counting 3 races with the winner getting $10,000 to win on July 13 with the Canadian Big Block Series, on August 24 with the Canadian Nationals and the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend Finale on October 9. Another popular event is back on July 2nd with the Run what ya Brung paying $4,000 to the winner of the race.

A solid season is expected with many things to follow in the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified division and it all starts on May 21! Be there !
