Cornwall Motor Speedway to run under no sanction for 2022!

Cornwall, Ont – Martin Bélanger – Monday, February 14, 2022 – With the recent announcement about presenting our 3rd edition of our long weekend event next October, the Cornwall Motor Speedway is confirming that they are parting ways with World Racing Group for 2022 and will be unsanctioned for the upcoming summer.

After many discussions and negotiations with DIRTcar Northeast, we were advised by them that to be under the DIRTcar sanction for 2022, we could not hold our October long weekend event that is currently scheduled for October 7-9, 2022. With the success we had during the first 2 editions, the decision was made by promoter Raymond Lavergne to become independent.

This decision will have minimal impacts on race teams that are planning to run Cornwall this season, we will use the same rule package that DIRTcar has presented to avoid extra expenses, which includes Hoosier tires and VP Race Fuels. For the Sportsman division, we will honour the Pace program as well. We are currently exploring other technical inspections with suppliers.

Cornwall Motor Speedway management is hard at work to finalize a great 2022 that will include weekly racing involving our regular divisions along with the return of the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals, Race for the Cure Sportsman, Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock Series and the Belair & Son Garage Mini-Stock Series.

The coming season will have a Canadian flavour as the Canadian Big Block Series will make a return along with the Farnham Ale Canadian Pro-Stock Series and we are in the works to have a 358 Series. The Action Sprint Tour and Northeast Late Model Alliance are also confirmed for August as the Lighting Sprints will be back for at least 4 times.

Several announcements are scheduled in the coming weeks as opening night is set for May 15. Continue to visit our website and social platforms to get all the details for 2022!
