Cornwall, ON, May 14, 2024 – Martin Belanger – Popular with fans and with drivers, the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman division promises to take the headline often during the 2024 season at Cornwall!
A battle between several competitors is shaping up for the division title this year as the top 5 will look a lot different than last year, defending track champion, Gabriel Cyr will be looking for another title, his consistency last season allowed him to grab a first title over Shane Pecore who will be looking to regain supremacy this season. Cedric Gauvreau will be another contender as he plans to be at Cornwall more regularly as some young guns such as Tristan Ladouceur, Justin Cyr and Fire Swamp will also be looking at a place in the top 5 just like Adam Rozon, Justin Lalancette, Justin Desrosiers, Dan Jalbert, Scott McGill, Billy Cook, Josh Jock, David Andre and Mario Dupuis, are amongst drivers returning full time. Some rookie contenders in Trey Ladouceur, Josh Jock, Sylvain Dupuis, Pierre Picard and Madie Wallace will look to make their spot in the regular division.
The Summer Sizzler Sportsman Showdown highlights the schedule on July 17 with the biggest purse offered in Canada for the category, the 100-lap event will be pay the winner $5,555 to win and a overall purse of more than $25,000 for that evening. The Lamoureux Pumping Sportsman Series will assure the continuity of the legacy build by the former Race for the Cure Sportsman Series that ended last season. A total of 17 programs is on the schedule including the 4 big events mentioned and 1 extra on August 7 being part of the Short Track Super Series night.
The Fun Zone Party Inflatables Novice Sportsman category is back with a dozen events scheduled, a good way for newcomers to gain some experience and provide some seat time. A good mix of returnees and new faces will form the field of cars as we expected to get in between 12 to 14 cars on most night that the class is in action.
