Carey Terrance wins at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Martin Belanger – Sunday, August 25, 2024 – After a great event on Thursday evening, the Cornwall Motor Speedway was back in action tonight on Fence Depot Night.

In the 35-lap JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified feature, Carey Terrance took the lead over Kalen Draper and Kevin Hamel. The first 12 laps were quickly done as Brianna Ladouceur brought caution as she slowed down in front of the grandstands. Terrance had a solid car in front of Draper as Thomas Cook had issues on lap 23 and lost his third spot. Terrance had a good start over Draper and Johnathon Ferguson

In the 25-lap Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman, Tristan Ladouceur led the initial lap as caution was out. Ladouceur was the leader with Justin Lalancette in second and Gabriel Cyr in third. As the feature picked up momentum, Ladouceur got into lap traffic on lap 11. Lap traffic was a factor as several positions’ swaps between the top 5 positions. Caution was out with 2 to go. On the restart, what a run for the top 3 as Cyr and Pecore charged for the lead, Cyr was able to make a last lap pass and got the win over Ladouceur and Pecore.

Teammates Brock Gregory and Tyler French were in front of the pack in the 25-lap Street Stock feature with French taking the lead as Shawn Gregory was in third. A good 3-way battle for the lead as Shawn Gregory found something on the top side and ran side by side with French. The 3 Brighton Speedway regulars pulled away as French took a good lead on the Gregorys. French went on to win the event.

A good start in the 20-lap Rick Ranch Mini-Stock event as Antoine Dumouchel took the early lead over Carl Gorry and Martin Bernard. Caution was out for Emily Massy. On the restart Martin Bernard was able to get the lead on Dumouchel. An accident sent points leader Travis Lamarche to the pits, on the green Bernard still in front as Dumouchel had issues of his own and went to the pits. Bernard was good in front as Christopher Proulx and Brandon McMillan in third. Proulx was fast using the inside lane and took the lead on lap 16. Proulx went on to win his first ever feature.

In the 20-lap MidgetSTR, Yoan Nault was the early lead over Jacob Nault and Carl Brisebois. Yoan Nault had a solid run, in front of Yan Bussiere and Brisebois at halfway point. Bussiere was challenging the leader as caution came out with 6 laps to go. On the restart, Bussiere took the lead over Nault as Carl Labonté was in third. Bussiere went on to win the feature.

The Fun Zone Party Inflatables Novice Sportsman saw Jacory Thompson taking the early lead over Nicolas Mainville. Thompson had a few good battles with Mainville but pulled away and won the feature.
