Canadian Super DIRT Weekend getting bigger and better at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Monday, October 3, 2022 – Martin Belanger –  The 3rd edition of the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend presented by King Edwards Auto Parts and DIRT Outlaw Apparel is getting bigger and better as we are expecting a record breaking attendance in participation!

The Friday night portion of the 3-day event will be the busiest in the pits with the Alexis Charbonneau Memorial event that is bringing over 70 Mini-Stocks! “The support we have been getting for this event is overwhelming as we got over 80 sponsors adding to the mix and helped bring this night to another level’’ says Martin Belanger. In the other divisions, nearly 50 Modifieds have registered and more than 75 Sportsman are expected along with the best Pro-Stock and Lightning Sprints fields of the season. ‘’We are expecting over 240 cars for Friday, which is about 70 more than our record from 2021!’’ added Belanger. ‘’Our 3 pit areas will be at max capacity as the overflow parking will also have the Pro-Stock and Lightning Sprints on that night, we will make it work!’’

All the biggest stars from Ontario and Quebec along with some of the best from Northern New-York will be in Cornwall for the weekend as a lot of money is on the line for the 358-Modified Shootout presented by St.Lawrence Radiology, the Next Level Home Pro-Stock Sportsman Series and Pro-Stock Challenge presented by Gauvreau Top-Soil. Current entries in each of the divisions are higher than last year as the Sportsman currently holds the record with 67 cars registered for 1 night of racing, this could be shattered as we have over 75 names on our registration list.

The 358-Modified will a 50-lap event on Friday and Saturday with each paying a minimum of $3,000 to win and the main event with be on Sunday with a 125-lap feature paying $10,000 to win! The Sportsman will have 40 laps on Friday, their main event on Saturday with 100 laps and back on Sunday with a 50-lap feature, plus a 20-lap Non-qualifier feature on each night since we will get more than 45 cars registered in that division. The Pro-Stock will get a 35-lap event on Friday and a 40-lap event on Saturday with each paying $2,000 to win.

The 49-lap In Memory of Alexis will be the main event on Friday with a $8,000 total purse plus $4,000 in bonus and contingencies and the winner getting $2,049 for his win.  The Lightning Sprints will crown their 2022 champion in Cornwall as they are part of the Friday and Saturday night portion of the show. The Northeast Late Model Alliance will have name their champion during that weekend as they are part of the card on Saturday and Sunday. The Street Stocks and Vintage are also on the card on Sunday.

Some post-race entertainment will be provided on both Friday and Saturday as DJ Mat will spin some tunes on Friday and The County Lads will give a show before and after the races for the fans and race teams that want to enjoy some music! ‘’Adding an entertainment portion to this event is a big plus as many people were requesting this’’ noted Belanger.

Racing starts at 5:45pm on Friday, 4pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday with cars hitting the track about 1 hour before that for their practice and timed hot-laps sessions.

It is the biggest weekend of 2022 and you don’t want to miss it !!
