Canadian Nationals 358, Race for the Cure Sportsman, Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock and Frank Belair Memorial Mini-Stock Series this Sunday!

100-lap Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals highlights a busy Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Wednesday, July 27, 2022 – Martin Belanger –  The Cornwall Motor Speedway will have a busy long weekend Sunday as the 4 local series will be in action with the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals, Race for the Cure Sportsman, Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock and Frank Belair Memorial Mini-Stock Series.

Capping off a busy month of July in Cornwall will be the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals with a 100-lap feature paying $4,000 to the winner. On June 19, Carey Terrance got the win over Chris Raabe and Corey Wheeler. These 3 drivers are currently in a heated battle for the track championship with only 2 points separating the top 3 runners. A good field of cars is expected this Sunday with David Hebert, Mario Clair, Jarrett Herbison, Even Racine and others will be boost the field.

The Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will run it’s third race with Shane Pecore being the top runner over Ryan Stabler, William Racing, Sam Charland and Bobby Herrington. More than 30 cars are expected to be in the pits for the 50-lap event.

The first race of the Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock Series was a scorcher with Bruno Richard having the best on Bruno Cyr in the final moment of the event. A solid field of 20 cars had showed up for the first race, we expect a similar amount of full fender racers for the second round of this series that boost a $3,000 points fund!

In the Frank Belair Memorial Mini-Stock Series, Alexis Charbonneau leads the way over Curtis Lindsay and the current man to beat at the speedway, Pierre Picard. With 3 wins in a row, a $300 bounty was added this Sunday to any Mini-Stock driver being able to win against Picard, courtesy of Ladouceur Trucking. A 22-lap event is scheduled.

Racing will start at 6:30pm with pit gates opening at 3pm and general admission at 5pm, General admission prices are set at $30 for adults, $10 for kids between 6 and 16 and free for 5 years and under. Pit admission is set for $40. Reminder to arrive early and get the chance to meet and greet with brothers Gabriel and Justin Cyr, behind the grandstands between 5 and 5:30pm.
