Canadian Big Block Series and Action Sprint Tour this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Friday, August 19, 2022 – Martin Belanger –  The Canadian Big Block Series highlights the program this Sunday night along with the visit of the Action Sprint Tour, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stocks.

The 2022 champion of the Canadian Big Block Series will be crowned this Sunday evening as Cornwall will host the final of 6 events that were run for that Series. The competitors participating will have a grueling weekend with 3 nights in a row with events presented at Autodrome Granby on Friday evening and then Autodrome Drummond on Saturday. With Mat Willamson away over the weekend, a good battle between Michael Parent, Carey Terrance and Erick Rudolph is shaping up for the 3 events. Terrance is the defending champion in this series and has only 4 points behind Parent coming in Granby. Another great purse is on the line on Sunday as the winner will get $5,000 for his win after the 75-lap event, again a $1,000 bonus goes to the best 358-Modified finisher.

The Action Sprint Tour is in town this Sunday as the current championship battle is really close with only 4 points between Jacob Dykstra and Mathieu Bardier as Darren Dryden is third with 6 points behind Bardier. Brett Stratford and Allan Downey, completes the top 5. A 25-lap feature is scheduled with a field of nearly 25 competitors is expected.

Will we see a new face in the winner circle in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock division? So far, only Bruno Richard with 4 and Marc Lalonde have won a feature, the Pro-Stock will have a 25-lap event. With his win last Sunday, Alexis Charbonneau regained the lead in the Belair and Sons Garage Mini-Stock with a 5-point lead over Pierre Picard, they will have a 15-lap race. The Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman will have a night off on Sunday.

Racing will start at 6:30pm with pit gates opening at 3pm and general admission at 5pm, General admission prices are set at $35 for adults, $5 for kids between 6 and 16 and free for 5 years and under. Pit admission is set for $45. Reminder to arrive early and get the chance to meet and greet with Corey Wheeler and Gage Morin, behind the grandstands between 5 and 5:30pm.
