Cornwall, Ont. – Sunday, July 26, 2026 – Martin Belanger — A hot summer evening welcomed a great crowd of fans and race teams to the ever-popular Autograph Night at Cornwall Motor Speedway. The Battle on the Border Pro-Stock Series headlined the racing card, joined by a full program on Climate Control HVAC Night.
Sid Harmer Jr. grabbed the early lead in the 35-lap Battle on the Border Pro-Stock Series feature before an opening-lap caution for an incident in Turn 1. On the restart, Harmer maintained the top spot over Bastien Caron and Tommy Lizotte. Running the bottom groove, Lizotte moved into second on lap 4 and quickly challenged Harmer for the lead as the duo pulled away from the field.
The leaders encountered lap traffic on lap 15, allowing Jason Fetterly to join the battle at the front. Lizotte drifted high in Turn 2 a few laps later, dropping to fifth as Fetterly and Tyler Bushey moved into contention with Harmer. A late caution by Stéphane Lebrun with just two laps remaining set up a dramatic finish, but Harmer was flawless on the restart, holding off Bushey for the victory. Lizotte recovered to complete the podium in third.
The JLB Heating & Cooling 358-Modified feature saw Kalen Draper take the early lead over Gabriel Cyr and Joey Ladouceur. A caution for David Hébert on lap 8 tightened the field, but Draper was untouchable on the restart, pulling away while Cyr and Cédric Gauvreau battled for second. Draper went on to score his first Cornwall victory of the season ahead of Cyr and Gauvreau.
Jacob Nadeau paced the field from the drop of the green in the 25-lap Canadian Barge Builders Sportsman feature, leading Josh Jock and Brennan Moore. Nadeau’s sizeable advantage disappeared when Jeffrey Lapalme brought out a caution on lap 11. On the restart, Nadeau held firm as Dylan Moore worked his way past his brother Brennan for third. Nadeau was never seriously challenged, leading every lap to capture his fourth feature win of the season.
The Novice Sportsman feature saw Garin Thompson lead the opening seven laps before a caution slowed the race. Thompson was penalized to fourth after jumping two consecutive restarts, handing the lead to Tanner Tyo. Thompson quickly charged back to second before making contact with the wall in Turn 4 on lap 11, ending his bid for victory. Tyo remained in control the rest of the way to earn his first career Cornwall win, ahead of Anthony Boissonneault and Cameron Malloy.
A field of 22 cars took the green in the Rick Ranch Mini-Stock feature, with Travis Lamarche leading the opening lap. A caution early in the race bunched the field, and on the restart, Carl Gorry charged to the front ahead of Sébastien Raymond-Beauregard, while Bob Ray settled into third. Another yellow flag flew on lap 11, but Gorry was flawless on the ensuing restart, leading the remaining laps to score his first Cornwall Motor Speedway feature victory of the season.
The action continues next Sunday evening with one of the biggest events of the season: the Chico Dingwall Memorial, featuring the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series and the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals. The 96-lap main event will pay $10,000 to win, making it one of the richest DIRTcar 358-Modified races in Canada.
