Davie Franek wins the Empire Super Sprints at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont. – Sunday, June 21, 2026 – Martin Belanger — Mother Nature let us race tonight with the Empire Super Sprints in town along with double features for the 358-Modified with May 31 remake and the Battle on the Border Series for them and a full show on JLB Heating and Cooling night.

The Empire Super Sprints was the main event of the evening with their 25-lap affair as Davie Franek led the initial lap as red flag came for Jordan Poirier who flipped in turn 4, he was ok. Franek set the pace on the following lap as Jason Barney and Matt Tanner were behind him. The top 2 pulled away from the field as the feature pick up some momentum. Franek led the final the circuits and got the win!

The Battle on the Border 358-Modified had a 40-lap feature that saw Thomas Cook taking the lead over David Hebert and Joey Ladouceur. Hebert used the inside lane to pass Cook for the lead on lap 10. While was building a comfortable lead, Corey Wheeler moved to third. Hebert had heavy traffic in front of him with 10 laps to go. Hebert worked well in these conditions and led the final laps to get the win in the caution less feature. Hebert finished in front of Ladouceur and Wheeler.

The May 31st 358-Modified Feature was first to hit the track with Louie Jackson Jr taking the initial lead over Corey Wheeler and Carey Terrance. Jackson led the caution free feature wire to wire to get his first win of 2026 at the speedway over Corey Wheeler and Carey Terrance.

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock closed out the night with a 25-lap feature, Tommy Lizotte and David Seguin exchanged the lead early on as a few cautions slowed the field. Lizotte was able to take the lead from Seguin and never looked back and got his first win of the year in Cornwall.

Travis Lamarche had a quick start in the Ricks Ranch Mini-Stock feature over Carl Gorry and Pierre Picard. Lamarche was strong in front as Gorry and Picard had a great battle for second at halfway point. Lamarche and Picard had a heated battle for the lead as Lamarche was able to hold off and capture his first win!

Brock Gregory set the pace in the 25-lap Street Stock feature as Garren Taylor and Tyler French were behind him. Lap traffic became a factor as Taylor passed Gregory for the lead on lap 8 in these conditions, Taylor and Gregory exchanged the lead at around mid-point but Gregory took back the lead and got the win.

The action continues next Sunday evening as the first round of the Fat Les Chips Stand Canadian Nationals will highlight the night with the DIRTcar Sportsman Series also on hand on Canada Day Spectacular!
