Cornwall, ON – Sunday, August 3, 2025 – Martin Belanger – A packed house was treated to an action-filled evening at Cornwall Motor Speedway, as the Canadian Big Block Series headlined the program with a 100-lap, $10,000-to-win showdown. The night also featured the Farnham Ale Lager Pro-Stock Series, the Weekend Warriors Mini-Stock Series, and a strong Sportsman field in an event sponsored by Twin Leaf Stores.
The main event saw Steve Bernard set the early pace, leading over Sam Charland and Louie Jackson Jr. An early caution on lap 12 bunched the field, with Bernard maintaining the lead on the restart ahead of Charland and Corey Wheeler. Charland surged to the front on a lap 25 restart, but heartbreak struck on lap 35 when mechanical issues forced him to retire while leading. Bernard regained the top spot, with Jackson and David Hebert in pursuit. At the halfway point, Bernard faced heavy traffic, while positions shuffled behind him. By lap 82, a caution for Brian McDonald reset the field. On the restart, Felix Roy made his move, grabbing the lead from Bernard with Tim Fuller moving into third. Roy pulled away and never looked back, scoring the $10,000 victory ahead of David Hebert and early leader Steve Bernard.
Marc Lalonde controlled the early portion of the 50-lap Pro-Stock feature, leading over Yves Hamel and Dave Seguin. A caution on lap 14 shuffled the order, with Bruno Cyr advancing to second. Lalonde remained strong up front, with Cyr and Seguin battling behind him. As the laps wound down, Seguin took over second on lap 38. A late caution with four laps to go gave the field one more shot, but Lalonde stayed perfect to score his fifth win of the season.
Jacorey Arquette led the opening laps in the Sportsman feature, before Jacob Nadeau used the high side to power into the lead on lap 5. A caution immediately followed, but Nadeau held the advantage on the restart, with Kristian Smoke moving into second. The field shuffled through several cautions, but Nadeau stayed calm under pressure. Dylan Kirkland climbed into second by halfway, with Elliot Gamache eventually slotting into third. Nadeau held off the late charges to capture his first win of the season, followed by Kirkland and Gamache.
In the Weekend Warriors Mini-Stock Series feature, Carl Gorry was the early leader as Pierre Picard was able to pass Gorry for the lead as Antoine Dumouchel and Sebastien Raymond were the top 3 at halfway point.
