Tim Fuller Claims Victory in $10,000-to-Win Summer Showdown 100 at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, ON – Wednesday, July 16, 2025 – Martin Belanger – One of the most anticipated events of the season took place at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Archer’s Poultry Farms Night, as the Summer Showdown 100 delivered intense action with some of the top DIRTcar 358-Modified drivers from across the Northeast battling for a $10,000 payday. The event also served as a round of the prestigious Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals Series.

Veteran standout Tim Fuller emerged victorious after an epic 100-lap contest, outdueling the likes of Mike Mahaney and Erick Rudolph in front of a packed grandstand.

The race began with Joey Ladouceur jumping to the early lead over Ryan Stabler and Justin Cyr, until a caution slowed the field on lap 4. On the restart, Ladouceur maintained his advantage while Erick Rudolph moved into third. A second caution came on lap 14, and upon the next green flag, Stabler surged to the lead ahead of Rudolph and Mahaney.

By lap 30, the leaders were into heavy traffic. Mahaney moved into second and began applying pressure on Stabler, eventually taking over the lead on lap 36. Just a lap later, Tim Fuller made a bold move into second, just before a caution flew for Felix Roy on lap 38.

At the halfway mark, a yellow for Corey Wheeler bunched the field again, setting up a thrilling battle between Mahaney and Fuller for the top spot. The caution flew once more on lap 57, with the running order showing Mahaney, Fuller, and Rudolph holding down the podium positions.

As the laps ticked away and the leaders returned to lapped traffic, Fuller found momentum through the middle groove and made the decisive move on lap 82 to take the lead from Mahaney. From there, he never looked back — cruising to the checkered flag and collecting the $10,000 winner’s prize. Mahaney settled for second, while Rudolph rounded out the podium.

The Lamoureux Pumping Sportsman Series completed the evening with a 40-lap feature. Shane Pecore took the early lead over Fire Swamp and Dylan Moore. Pecore had a strong car in front and pulled away from Swamp. While Pecore pulled away, the battle was for second between Moore and Swamp as Moore took it on lap 15. Pecore was the class of the field and led the whole event to score the win !

In the 35-lap Northeast Late Model Alliance feature, David Pangrazio took the early lead before Brian McDonald capitalized on a lap 3 restart to grab control of the race. The two drivers pulled away from the pack, trading the lead until Pangrazio reclaimed the top spot on lap 14. However, a lap 17 restart altered the race dramatically as Pangrazio was caught in an incident, allowing McDonald to retake the lead. Charlie Sandercock and Austin King moved into second and third. McDonald held on for the remainder of the race to earn the Late Model victory.

After 2 events in 4 days, we will take a night off this coming Sunday night and we will be back on Sunday, July 27 with the PM Promotions Pro-Stock Series and a full night of racing!
