Cornwall, ON – Thursday, May 8, 2025 – Martin Belanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway is revving up for an exciting 2025 racing season! The track is set to kick off its 56th season this Sunday evening, with a thrilling full show featuring all regular divisions, proudly sponsored by G&J Yelle Inc. This marks the first of 17 regular race nights leading up to Championship Night on August 31st.
Under DIRTcar sanctioning, the 2025 season will see the return of the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds, Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman, and Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stocks, all competing for valuable points toward the Cornwall Track Championship. Additionally, all results from the regular season will count toward the prestigious Hoosier Tire Weekly Championship.
While most divisions will follow the regular program, there’s an exciting twist for the Ricks Ranch Mini-Stock division, which will feature an additional 5 laps in their feature event. Fans can also expect some special guest competitors in each category, including fresh faces eager to make their mark.
In the 358-Modifieds, look out for Sam Charland, who might give a try for the track championship, and Chantal Provencher, who is committed to running the full season at Cornwall. The Sportsman division will see Donovan Lussier, already with 3 wins this season, competing regularly at the track. Jacob Nadeau, a rising star, is also expected to join forces. These new additions are set to make the competition even more exciting and competitive. The Mini-Stock division is also growing, with several new drivers joining the field, promising an even more action-packed race.
In preparation for the upcoming World of Outlaws visit, fans will get a sneak peek as Jordan Poirier and Dale Gosselin bring their sprint cars for test laps during the evening. This is a perfect preview of what’s to come on May 18th.
A rare treat this year: the season opener coincides with Mother’s Day! To celebrate, all ladies will be admitted for just $10 in general admission, with each receiving a coupon for a chance to win exciting door prizes. It’s a special way to honor mothers while enjoying thrilling racing action.
