2025 Season Preview: JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds at Cornwall Motor Speedway

Cornwall, ON – Friday, May 2, 2025 – Martin Belanger – As we are now just one week away from opening night at Cornwall Motor Speedway, we wrap up our season preview with a look at our premier division — the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds. Another exciting season is on the horizon, with fierce competition expected at every turn.

Heated Championship Battle Expected for the Track Title

Get ready for another thriller in the JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modifieds, where a tight championship battle is once again expected this summer. The top eight drivers from last year’s standings are all returning, and the 2024 season saw an intense four-way fight for the title, with just 41 points separating the top contenders.

Carey Terrance, a five-time champion, is aiming for a sixth title, while Jackson Gill — who kicked off last season in dominant fashion — returns with momentum, already securing a win at Can-Am in 2025. With a new partnership backing him this year, Corey Wheeler is focused on chasing his fourth championship. Meanwhile, Louie Jackson Jr. finished strong last season, proving he’s ready to be in the title conversation from the start.

Also in the mix will be Ryan Stabler, Joey Ladouceur, Kalen Draper, and Brian McDonald, who were locked in a tight battle for fifth place in 2024, with just 22 points between them.

Keep an eye on drivers like Kevin Hamel, Brianna Ladouceur, and rookie contender Gabriel Cyr as they aim for top ten finishes. Veterans Lee Ladouceur, Chris Ferguson, and Gavin MacFarlane are also expected to run full-time and will add further depth to an already stacked field.

Big Payouts and Canadian National Series Headline 2025 Schedule

The 2025 schedule is highlighted by four major Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals events, with each feature paying at least $4,000 to win and capped off by a massive $10,000-to-win race on Wednesday, July 16, held in conjunction with the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series. The final round of the Nationals will take place during the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend in October.

Fans of Big Block Modifieds have two must-see dates: the Super DIRTcar Series returns with the O’Canada 100 on June 29, and the Canadian Big Block Series stops in on August 3 — both offering $10,000 to the winner. The season concludes with another $10,000-to-win 358-Modified feature on October 12 as part of the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend finale.

With the return of DIRTcar sanctioning, the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series race on July 16 is shaping up to be one of the biggest nights of the season. Along with 15+ invaders typically following the Canadian Nationals, drivers like Mat Williamson, Mike Mahaney, Lance Willix, and Tim Fuller are expected to be in the field, pushing the entry list toward 40 cars.

The JLB Heating and Cooling 358-Modified division is set for another thrilling season — championship drama, national stars, and some of the best racing in the northeast await. Join us for opening night and every event as the chase for the crown begins!
