Cornwall, Ont – Friday, July 1 2022 – Martin Belanger – The Cornwall Motor Speedway will have a very busy month of July with 6 events planned including 3 in 7 days to kickoff the month.
July 3: Full program + Vintage
This Sunday, a full program is on the card as the Eastern Ontario Vintage Club will have their second visit of the season, the Mini-Stock will have an off night.
July 7 : The Big-Blocks are in town !
This will probably be our biggest event of the regular season with the Canadian Big Block Series in town with a 75-lap event paying $10,000 to win! Already some big names such as Matt Sheppard, Mat Williamson, Erick Rudolph, Mike Mahaney, Tim Fuller and Ryan Arbuthnot, have confirmed their presence along with several drivers from Quebec that have a big block. The Sportsman and Novice Sportsman will be on the card as well for this program that is scheduled to start at 7pm.
July 10 : Southern Ontario Sprints + Race for the Cure Sportsman Series
Fans looking for a different night of racing will be served on Sunday July 10 with the Southern Ontario Sprints in town, this is only chance in 2022 to see 360 sprints in Cornwall. The second round of the Race for the Cure Sportsman series is also on the card with a solid field of Sportsman expected, the Frank Belair Mini-Stock Memorial is also on the card as the Mod-Lite will be in town as well. The 358-Modified and Pro-Stock will have a night off.
July 17: Quebec-Ontario Challenge in 358-Modifieds and Sportsman
Another big event that should attract several invaders with the Quebec-Ontario Challenge for the Modifieds sponsored by Restaurant Le Grinder and Sportsman Lussier Chevrolet-DRIVR, a big field of cars is expected in both divisions as the Lightning Sprints will be in town and Mini-Stock will have the night off.
July 24 : Autograph Night
One of the most popular events for the families and also race teams is back after a 2 hiatus, the Autograph Night is always an event that many people look forward as race teams are bringing their cars in the infield and people can meet and greet with their favourite driver, a full program with our 5 regular divisions is on tap.
July 31 : 4 series in action
We will close July in great fashion as the 4 local series will be in action with the Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals, Race for the Cure Sportsman, Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock and Frank Belair Memorial Mini-Stock Series, it is a long weekend in Ontario and this usually bring a lot race teams for that important night !
With 6 nights, this will have an impact on the points championships as well at the speedway, Corey Wheeler lead in the Picard Mobile Truck Repair 358-Modifieds, Ryan Stabler in the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman, Bruno Richard in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock and Alexis Charbonneau in the Belair and Sons Garage Mini-Stock.
