Cornwall, Ont. – Monday, May 4, 2026 – Martin Belanger — Over the years, the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock, have seen 1 or 2 drivers taking the lead and dominate the division, Joey Ladouceur was one of the first to do so in the 2000s with Dave Bissonnette, then followed by CD Beauchamp, Bruno Richard and more recently Marc Lalonde who was the dominant force in the class.
Lalonde announced last summer that 2025 was his last year driving full time in the full fender division meaning that someone else will step up and challenge for the crown! There are several contenders that will look in taking Lalonde’s spot starting by veteran driver Jocely Roy who finished second in points last season to Lalonde, Burton Ward, Dave Seguin, Kevin Fetterly Jr. Denis Gauvreau and Eric Jean-Louis are part of the early favorites in winning the championship!
The number of drivers visiting the winner circle will be up compared to last season with Lalonde taking half of the wins home, we should see some new faces with the checkered flag in hand in 2026.
Some big events are on the 2026 schedule for the Pro-Stock as the Battle on the Border Series will be the main spotlight, boosting over $12,000 in points and bonuses, the series will make 3 stops in Cornwall during the season and three more in Mohawk during the same time frame. The series will start on May 24 and will make it’s second stop on July 26 and will crown the champion in Cornwall during the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend on October 10. Another big event on the calendar will be early in the season with the DIRTcar Pro-Stock Series making a stop on May 31 for a 50-lap feature event that will bring the best drivers on the circuit in Cornwall.
With a deep field filled with talent, experience, and rising stars, all signs point toward another exciting season for the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock. The action gets underway on, Sunday, May 24, with a 35-lap feature event counting toward the Battle on the Border Series.
