Our local racing scene remains the backbone of the calendar as all our local series are back in 2022 with most of our partners backing them with a lot of money on the line. The Fat Les Chip Stand Canadian Nationals has 3 dates, all on long weekends with May 22, July 31 and September 4th, this series always attracts the best of Ontario and Quebec, Corey Wheeler had a strong finish last year and secured the title for as second year in a row. Boosting the richest points fund for a Sportsman Series, the Race for the Cure is back again this year with $10,000 on the line with the champion getting $5,000. Ryan Stabler was on top as several contenders will be looking to take Stabler’s crown, the deep pool of talent will have 4 different attempts in collecting points sharing the same dates as the Canadian Nationals plus having the spotlight of July 10th!

The Clyde Sligner Pro-Stock Series will be back as well with a $3,000 points fund, the series will share the same dates at the Canadian Nationals and Race for the Cure, last season, the best field of cars showed and with the reopening of the border, competitors from the United States will join the field making it even tougher. The Mini-Stock division have a lost a friend and competitor as well this winter as Francois Belair passed away, to honour him, the Frank Belair Memorial Mini-Stock Series will run on 4 nights, each feature will be 22 laps in distance and the points fund will be at $2,500 making it the richest ever for this series.

Canadian Super DIRT Weekend to close out the year

The long weekend in October has been very popular during the pandemic at Cornwall with record participation last year, after two years as the Fall Showdown Weekend, this event will now be called the Canadian Super DIRT Weekend! The 3-day spectacular will run from October 7 to 9 and will have multiple classes in action including the addition of the Crate Late Models, the full schedule will be known at a later time. There is already a lot of interest from the fans and competitors for this weekend of racing.

Very diverse schedule!

The Picard Mobile Truck Repair 358-Modified will some important races as well with the Canadian 358-Modified Series on July 17 and also two visits of the Canadian Big Block Series, these races will attract drivers from all the areas. Great pool of talent in every division!

Track championship is also a key part of the calendar and every division will have deep fields. Corey Wheeler returns to defend his title in the Picard Mobile Truck Repair 358-Modified division but with likes of Kyle Dingwall, Luke Whitteker, Carey Terrance, Brian McDonald, Louie Jackson, Joey Ladouceur, Chris Raabe and many good competitors, it will be a good challenge of the driver of the #47s car to repeat. The Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman will probably host the best pool of talent since the return of the division as up to 10 drivers have a legitimate chance to win the championship, Ryan Stabler, Shane Pecore, Cedric Gauvreau, William Racine, Samuel Charland, Gabriel Cyr, Adam Rozon, Justin Lalancette, Tyler Givogue, Gilles Godard and the list continues. In the Pro-Stock division, a new champion will be crowned in 2022 with the retirement of Dave Seguin, several new faces are joining the division. In the Belair and Son Garage Mini-Stock, Alexis Charbonneau and former track champion Marc Dagenais are part of the favourites to be in front at the end of the regular season.
