Cornwall, Ont. – Saturday, May 2, 2026 – Martin Belanger — A new cross-border collaboration between Cornwall Motor Speedway and Mohawk International Raceway has officially brought the Battle on the Border Series to life. The new six-race championship will feature the 358-Modified, Sportsman, and Pro-Stock divisions with three special events at each facility.
The 358-Modified portion will boost $10,000 points funds paid in Canadian dollars courtesy of long time Mohawk sponsor Frenchies Chevrolet from Massena, New York and Gauvreau Transport that are joining forces for this first edition.
The top 10 drivers in the final standings after six completed events will earn a share of the points fund, with the Battle on the Border Series champion taking home $3,000. The remainder of the top payouts include:
2nd: $2,000
3rd: $1,500
4th: $1,000
5th: $750
Positions 6 through 10 will also receive payouts, with 10th place earning $250.
More sponsors could joint this series as we are getting close to the initial green flag !
The inaugural event is scheduled for Friday, May 22 at Mohawk, followed by the second round in Cornwall on June 7th, the series will be back in Mohawk on July 3 with 2 consecutive events in Cornwall on July 19th and August 16th. Mohawk will host the final round on Friday, August 21st. The series champion will officially be crowned on that evening
Each event will feature will be 40 laps at each venue!
Officials from both tracks are anticipating strong car counts and intense competition throughout what promises to be one of the most exciting regional series of the season.
